The Blossom Ball is a formal/semi-formal signature fundraising event benefiting Gateway Longview and New Directions Youth & Family Services. Together, through New View Alliance, these organizations have served children and families across Western New York for more than a century—providing critical programs in behavioral health, foster care, education, and family support.
This inspiring evening will bring together corporate and community leaders, board members, business partners, and dedicated supporters for a celebration of impact, partnership, and purpose. Guests will enjoy an elegant experience featuring music, dining, and meaningful storytelling—all in support of youth and families building brighter futures.
As our inaugural signature event of this scale, The Blossom Ball represents an important opportunity to elevate awareness, deepen engagement, and strengthen the foundation for what we envision becoming an annual tradition in our community.
During the evening, we will proudly present the first Beacon of Hope Award to longtime board member Mike Ervin, recognizing his extraordinary leadership and steadfast commitment during a significant period of growth and collaboration for our organizations.
Mike Ervin’s relationship with New View Alliance is one of long-term stewardship through moments of real change.
His service began with Gateway Longview, where he joined the Board of Directors and later served as Treasurer and Board Chair. During his chairmanship, Gateway Longview and New Directions - two organizations united by a shared mission to support children, youth, and families - merged to form New View Alliance. Mike served as Board Chair throughout the merger and continued in that role for five years, helping provide stability, financial discipline, and continuity as the organization took shape. He continues to serve New View Alliance today as Treasurer.
Professionally, Mike is a Partner at Withum with more than 30 years of experience in public accounting. He specializes in SEC reporting, complex accounting matters, mergers and acquisitions, and forensic investigations, and brings that expertise to his nonprofit governance work through a focus on strong financial oversight and long‑term sustainability.
